A popular plant during the Second World War and treated like spinach.
1in deep in 6in pots during March or directly in the garden.
Very little care is needed for this vegetable.
Remove leaves as-and-when required.
Best used fresh, doesn’t store well.
Cut away from the main stem and use as spinach. The stem can be cooked for around 15/20 minutes.
