The plants can get as tall as 6ft. Putting a cane either end of the bed and using string to hold the stems upright is advised to stop them falling over.

The tubers are ready to harvest after the plant has started to die back. Lift the tubers as and when required in the kitchen. Any tubers left in the ground will regrow next year.
