My sunflower is facing the wrong way!

On my Facebook groupfacebook.com/groups/amateurgardener, James asked:

My sunflower is about 6ft tall. The only problem is it’s facing away from the viewing point and out over the neighbours gardens. How can I turn it???

Michele from New Jersey responded with the correct reply: Sunflowers follow the sun when young and then face east when the flowers open. So you either have to plan to plant it somewhere where you can see it as it faces east, or plant a multi-headed sunflower, which will have flowers facing in all directions. There’s really nothing you can do to make it face another direction.
