The Victorian Kitchen Garden – Episode 1 The Beginning

The dining room table at Chatsworth House as it might have been 100 years ago. In the days before imports and deep freezers all the fruits and vegetables on the dining tables of the wealthy had to be produced from their own estates by the Head Gardener and his staff. It was the responsibility of the Head Gardener to produce quality, variety and quantity, 365 days of the year for the family,
their house guests and the servants.
